Principal Mrs. Noboa- Roach

Principal Magdelyn Noboa-Roach has been an educator, coach, staff developer & Assistant Principal with the NYC Department of Education since 2001.  She comes from a long legacy of educators from paraprofessionals to college professors in her family. She is a mother, wife, sister, daughter, and a loving aunt. She comes to us with a wealth of experience and expertise in instruction and curriculum.  Mrs. Noboa-Roach's love for children is palpable. You can see it in her smile, hear it in her words, and feel it in her hugs which are markers she uses to greet her scholars each day.  Mrs. Noboa-Roach entered the Journey Prep community at the height of a pandemic in the fall of 2020.  She stated, "At its very best, I see PS 69 as a place where everyone’s expectations are high for themselves and for others, where the responsibility for meeting those expectations is shared, where everything that we do comes back to enabling quality teaching and learning so that every child can SOAR."

Assistant Prinicipal, Ms. Pagoada- Mellado

Ms. Laura Pagoada-Mellado has been the Assistant Principal at P.S. 69x Journey Prep since September 2019, overseeing grades 3-5.  She was teacher (Grades 4-6) for 17 years, before becoming a school administrator.  Ms. Pagoada-Mellado was born and raised in the Mott Haven section of the South Bronx and is of Honduran decent.  As an undergraduate student, Ms. Pagoada-Mellado attended Columbia University, majoring in Economics and Political Science.  She currently holds a Master’s Degree in Bilingual Education from City College CUNY and a Master’s in School Administration and Supervision from Fordham University.  Ms. Pagoada-Mellado is the mother of two children and enjoys playing the guitar.  Her personal mission as an educator is to provide our students with the necessary tools to become critical thinkers and help them develop to their full potential.
